Aum Neko is a young transgender Thai activist who looks at her country without complacency. Her fight to affirm her identity and her dreams of freedom clashes with the myths of a patriarchal society over which the figure of the King still presides. Her provocative, youthful ardor and her civil actions gradually get more media coverage and start shaking down the walls of the fantasized society whose hypocrisy she seeks to expose. As she becomes a figurehead for the civil rights movements, she also attracts the hate of the ultra-royalists opposing them in a very tense social context. When the military seized power in May, a reward was offered for her capture. She then has to flee the social repression that threatens her and all the Thai people who still hope for freedom.
The screening will be followed by a talk with the director and moderated by non-binary performance artist Holok Chen.
Aum Neko 是一位年輕的跨性別泰國活動家,對自己的國家沒有自滿。她為了確認自己的身份和追求自由的夢想,與父權社會的神話發生衝突,而這個社會仍由國王的形象主導。她那挑釁的青春熱情和公民行動逐漸獲得更多媒體關注,開始動搖她所試圖揭露的幻想社會的牆壁。隨著她成為公民權利運動的代表,她也吸引了反對派極端皇室支持者的仇恨,面對非常緊張的社會背景。在五月政權更替時,軍方對她的逮捕提供了懸賞。她不得不逃離威脅她和所有仍希望自由的泰國人民的社會鎮壓。

Speaking From Afar 來自遠方的話語
Presented by Eaton HK, Movement Festival was first initiated in 2018 and has hosted two editions in 2019 and 2022. Movement Festival brings performance art to a mixed audience: from performance enthusiasts to passersby, as well as hotel clients, dining guests, and hotel staff. Brought together in the same space either by chance or by their own will, audiences will experience curated movement activations in unusual spaces. Site-specificity lies at the core of the festival. With no stage, performers, audience members and anonymous passersby all share the same space. The constraints of the hotel space require artists to work around the blurred lines between the audience and the artists; performers may decide to attract the crowd’s attention or disappear into their surroundings to manipulate the space between performance and “real life”.
由香港逸東酒店主辦的「舞動節」於2018年首次發起,並於2019年和2022年舉辦了兩屆。 無論是出於偶然還是出於自願,表演愛好者、酒店房客、用餐客人和酒店員工等不同類型觀眾聚首一堂,在不尋常的空間中體驗精心策劃的舞動表演。場域特定性是舞動節的核心,表演沒有舞台,表演者、觀眾和路人均共享同一個空間。酒店空間的限制要求藝術家必須繞過觀眾和藝術家之間模糊的界線;表演者可能會決定吸引人群的注意力,或消失在周圍的環境中,以操縱表演和「現實生活」之間的距離。
