Q&A

-Why cacao?

Cacao is a powerful plant medicine that contains iron, zinc, potassium, copper, and magnesium which contribute to cardiovascular health. It is said to have benefits for depression as it contains anandamide, the bliss molecule and has the ability to trigger the release of dopamine and endorphins and increase serotonin. Cacao also has powerful antioxidants and can balance blood sugar levels by increasing the blood flow to the brain, this helps with focus and awareness.

Contraindications: Ceremonial Cacao is not recommended for anyone in the first trimester of pregnancy, with a serious heart condition, epilepsy or taking antidepressants.

-Why Blue lotus?

Blue lotus, also known as Nymphaea caerulea, is an aquatic plant found in various parts of the world, particularly in Egypt and other African countries. The blue lotus has a long history of use in various cultures and is often valued for its psychoactive properties. In addition, in Egyptian mythology, the blue lotus was associated with the sun god Ra and was considered a symbol of renewal and spiritual enlightenment.

The combination of cacao and blue lotus can provide an experience that is both unique and powerful. Both plants have their own unique properties and complement each other very well. Not only can the blue lotus enhance the relaxing and calming effects of cacao, but it can also enhance spiritual experiences at the same time. When used together, they can create a feeling of relaxation and well-being. The blue lotus can support the process of self-knowledge and transformation when combine with cacao.

-What to bring? Please bring your own cup or bottle. Water is available :)

-What to wear? Dress ready to move and however you wish. Most dancers probably come dressed as they would for say a yoga or fitness class, or for a festival boogie. :)

-Why do the doors close at 10:20 am, what if I just want to drop in at any time? This is a practice (albeit a great fun one!). We ask all dancers to be in the space ready to begin at 10:15 am. 10:20 am allows for those who have genuine reasons for being late, but really must be taken as the cutoff time to promote safety, fairness and respect to allow the fullest & deepest experience for all.

-What kind of music? ED music is eclectic and not linked to any specific type. We start with ambient/meditative tracks & then bring you on an ecstatic journey with any credible genre; including electronica, world music and organic/ethnic beats before bringing you back down with downtempo tracks and finish with a gentle sound bath.

-Are children allowed? Absolutely -we love kids! Our dances are family-friendly and under 12s can come for free (subject to availability/event not selling out!). Just please remember this is a practice and a moving meditation and so children must be supervised so that the space is not disrupted for others. We recommend to bring ear defenders/plugs for sensitive ears.

-What is your refund policy? We don't do refunds but we do accept transfers of tickets to another person. In the event of disruptive weather we will do a transfer of the ticket to another Sunday. Please keep an eye on email and WhatsApp communication to stay updated.
