About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

Good Grief is a free peer-to-peer support group and supportive space for anyone who has experienced a bereavement or is grieving.

On 24 February, join us for a special Good Grief session co-hosted by Ben and Jess.

Ben, the founder of The New Normal UK, played a huge part of the launch of our groups in Hong Kong during the pandemic, co-hosting sessions virtually from London with Jess. He was also present virtually at the very first Good Grief group in Hong Kong on the 29th January 2022. Now, three years later, Ben is flying to Hong Kong to co-host in person alongside Jess, for the first time ever!

This is a unique opportunity to connect with the heart of The New Normal Charity and reflect on how far we've come since those early days.

You'll find us on floor 21 of The Hive Wan Chai

About The New Normal Charity

The New Normal Charity is a Hong Kong registered S88 charity (91/19147). We offer free peer support groups to connect adults through life's challenges.

We believe that one of the best forms of therapy is simply talking. We facilitate conversations between people with similar experiences, creating a space where nobody feels alone.

Good Grief is our original group. It was started to bring like-minded adults together to openly discuss their stories and experiences. This space is designed to comfortably share experiences of grief and mental health in a supportive, understanding environment.

As a peer support group, Good Grief is for peers to share their personal struggles and support one another.

Group Etiquette

Attendees are welcome to come and listen, but this is not a space to observe. Participation is intended for those seeking personal support. This is not a space for students conducting studies, clinicians observing, or press unless written agreement has been obtained from the charity.

At the beginning of each group, attendees are invited to introduce themselves and share why they’ve come. After that, there’s no pressure to speak, and many choose to simply listen. The meeting hosts will guide the session and invite attendees to share anything they’d like to bring to the space.

Whatever is shared is relevant and welcomed. We ask that all attendees respect the privacy of the space and treat others with kindness and compassion throughout.
