Kalam started her makeup artistry training in 2003 after she graduated at HKU with a BA in Fine Arts. She was professionally trained as a makeup artist in Hong Kong (Beauty Tech), London (London School of Fashion) & New York (Make Up Designory). In 2010, she opened her own makeup studio named “Kalamakeup” in Central. Since then, Kalam and her team have been providing professional makeup and hair styling services for numerous fashion shoots/shows; tv shoots; corporate events; private clients & makeup artists trainings.
What is International Women's Week all about...
We are excited to host a series of events on Lamma to celebrate International Women's Day on the 8th March. We want to thank the women of Lamma who have offered their time and expertise to run various sessions throughout the week and our hope is the end of the week see's the Lamma community come that bit closer and in support of one another.
This is the first time we are curating such a week on Lamma, most of the events are ticketed and some are free! All the proceeds of the paid events we make from ticket sales will go to these two charities.
The charities we are supporting for this year are:
Kriti Children's Centre: To serve ethnic minority children and those with Special Educational Needs through Early Childhood Development and Chinese Language Immersion. https://www.kritilearning.com/
TALK: We exist to prevent child sexual abuse and support survivors.
TALK Hong Kong was founded as a peer support group in 2019 and in 2023 became an official charity. We shine a light on the scale of CSA and activate prevention through research, public awareness, and prevention training. https://www.talkhongkong.org/about/
