Part 2A: May 17 (Sat)

Designed for newer yoga teachers and experienced yogis in mind, Part 2 focuses on how to use hands-on adjustments and assistance to help stabilise, deepen and release a yoga pose. Offering safe support and adjustment to your students is an essential part of being an effective yoga teacher. Knowing your intention and approach to yoga adjustments and assisting can enhance your students’ experience as a practitioner, and improve the level of your teaching.


In this workshop, you will learn:


Morning session: 9:30am - 1:00pm

Principles of Adjustments and Assisting

Adjustments for seated poses

Adjustments for standing poses


Afternoon session: 2:15pm - 5:45pm

Adjustments in hip-opening poses

Assisting in arm balances


Part 2B: May 18 (Sun)

The second part of How to Adjust will explore more challenging asanas, so you can help your students and yourself how to enter and exit these poses safely and effectively. You will also learn basic massage techniques to end the day with deep relaxation


Morning session: 9:30am - 1:00pm

Revisiting principles of Adjustments and Assisting

Adjustments in backbends

Adjustments in twists


Afternoon session: 2:15pm - 5:45pm

Assisting in inversions

Introduction to effective massage techniques


“Part 2 - Yoga: How to Adjust” will not necessarily help you bring your leg behind your head, or keep you in a handstand on your own. But it will certainly deepen your understanding of the poses that you will teach as an instructor and practice as a student. You will also be given the opportunity to ask about poses that are not covered in this workshop.
